ELECTRIC Boat Get-Together

The informal gathering of electric model boaters  was again held at Mikey's house in his hard-to-beat boating backyard. What a dream to have that arrangement available all the time. Large, clean lake (you can see the bottom and the schools of fish), ducks, boat house, rescue boat, Labrador Retriever in case the rescue boat failed to start, and the water was deeper due to Fay. The gathering was larger, it seemed, and there was a very large collection of electrics; - Tiny water-bugs to small aircraft carriers.  Some with incredible speeds, some with small hardware inconveniences. 

Several multi boat races were run, more in keeping with NAMBA electric classes. Organization is starting to show through and replace the "totally informal" approach of the recent past. This group now has about six get togethers completed and is growing in dedicated support as well as showing growth in size. One of these times, I might even have a "completed run" without a hardware failure. 

Herb, with his screamer outboards, was there and he brought up the position of the W.C.R.A. organization that if electric boaters can muster up three or more boats of a given NAMBA specified class, they will be welcome to race.

It looks as if the gauntlet is on the ground. Will the challenge be accepted? Stay tuned to see, depending also on the W.C.R.A. race being held.  SIGN UP EARLY September 7 is not far away and registration needs to be in three (3) days prior for planning puroses.
